And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? (Num 12:6-8)

And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after. (Heb 3:5)

Moses was unique. Moses' experiences and choices portrayed many aspects of Christ Jesus in his first and second advents. His experiences ranged from: his life threatened as an infant, his calling to help deliver Israel, his face-to-face communications with God, his two forty day evens of fasting upon a mountain, his task to prepare for and assemble the tabernacle, his service as both priest and mediator, his position as prophet and king, his set of miracles before pharaoh and Egypt, his power over the sea, leprosy, plagues, and even the rocks, and more.

No one was like Moses except for the promised Messiah, Christ Jesus. Prophets before him, Enoch and Abraham, did no miracles. Those who came after him seldom had miracles. Elijah and Elisha were only modest exceptions compared to the many others.

Moses established, under God's direction, the finest summary of ethical behavior given anywhere in the world when he set the ten commandments before Israel. His directives to love God and to love fellow man were the first made anywhere. His conduct across forty years before Israel was not marred by any ill behavior toward his fellows. And the name of Moses is known around the world as the great law-giver and deliverer of Israel from Egypt, accomplished without weapons of war or even one squirmish.

Moses approach to God was unique for when he drew nigh to the tabernacle the pillar of cloud descended before him to meet him. He took of his spirit and shared it with seventy men of Israel displaying his desire for others to possess what he had been given. Though often opposed for envy or jealousy Moses retained his love for the people he lead as a shepherd and commanded as a great leader for their highest well-being. God gave to Moses a great platform and immense responsibility which Moses carried for forty years while frequently turning to God for support, wisdom and discernment to serve faithfully.

Moses directed the preparation and making of the tabernacle components, personally attended their assembly and inauguration and arranged for their ongoing care. He established the system of service through Levites and priests for the sin offerings, burnt offerings, free-will offerings, atonement offerings and the daily, sabbath, monthly and holy day offerings in due course. All of this was under God's direction to him as a priest before God, because Moses offered the cleansing offerings and sprinkled the blood of sin offerings to establish the tabernacle system of worship for Israel.

As Israel's leader he encouraged their faithfulness and obedience to all of God's directives, expressed by love for God and man. He sought their present and long term victory over their carnal nature, their witness before nations to God's goodness and greatness, their prosperity and their education of succeeding generations about God's words, deeds and character. Moses was given, upon the mountain at Sinai, the long distance preview of Israel's weakness, failure, bondage, capture and removal from the land. And Moses told them of God's plans to restore them again.

Moses told them about their kings and their great King, their poverty and prosperity, their defeat and victory, and their rejection and later acceptance of God's will for them, individually and as a body of people. He knew their hearts and God's capacity to change their hearts. And he brought them back to the land promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and graciously gave Joshua a charge to lead them. Them Moses died upon a mountain, willingly, just like God asked. "And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated." (Deut. 34:7)

The kingdom of Christ Jesus, the Messiah, shall usher in the glorious state of the church and His equitable rule over the whole earth. The sorrows, weeping, pain and misery of sin will fade and be replaced by peace, rest, and economic well-being with restoration of health in mind and body forever. This shall lead to sublime expressions of contentment and radiant smiles, profuse bubbling laughter, joy and singing, and ascend up to the exultant expressions of shouts of praise and profound gratitude. All of these shall be heard unto the utmost ends of the earth. The Old Testament and especially the Psalms use expressions like: "all nations should sing, and the mountains and trees of the field, and all creatures, sun, moon and stars, heaven and earth, should break forth into singing; and even the dead should awake and sing, and the lower parts of the earth should shout, and the tongue of the dumb should sing, and the dragons and all deeps; the barren, the prisoners, the desolate and mourners should sing; and that all nations should come and sing in the height of Zion." (Psa 22:22, 25; 69:30, 32, 34; 89:15; 138:1-5; etc.)

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
