Messianic Prophecies

A prophecy is the future told in advance by God through a prophet.

Isaiah 48:3-5 I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. For I knew how stubborn you were; the sinews of your neck were iron, your forehead was bronze. Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, 'My idols did them; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.'

2 Peter 1:19-21 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Psalm 40:7-8 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. (Quoted in Hebrews 10:7-10)

Everyone needs God's forgiveness.
"For in Your sight no one living is righteous." (Psalm 143:2)
God has provided the means for us to be reconciled to Himself.
"Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them." (Psalm 65:3)
The Messiah is God's provision for our forgiveness.
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisment for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
